WE2 – “The Circle” Book Club and Movie Night – March 2022

The WEBook Club invites network members, students, and alumni to joins us for a regularly scheduled book club with virtual video call discussions every few months. Genres include memoir, self-help, business, historical fiction, and science fiction. The books are chosen for their themes on gender, diversity in STEM and the workforce, advancing technology, energy crisis, women in leadership, intersectionality and identity, and other important topics for women in energy and engineering fields.

For our first Book Club and Movie Night events this year we will be focusing on the book “The Circle” by Dave Eggers with the movie of the same name. It is not required to read the book in order to attend Movie Night and vice versa. You are welcome to attend one or both events. This is a great way to network and meet other mentors, mentees, and more! These are a some of our more informal events so you don’t have to prepare anything prior to attending. If you’d like to just come to the discussion and listen, you’re welcome to!

For Movie Night, you do not need have any video streaming services! We will be providing the movie through our Zoom meeting and will also leave the chat open so everyone can ‘chat’ during the movie!

For Book Club, there is a free audiobook available on YouTube in a Part 1 and Part 2.
